XG Announces Official Release of Re-Cut Single 'IN THE RAIN' Out April 11

Hip-hop/R&B girl group XG has today announced that “IN THE RAIN” will be released as a re-cut single this Friday, April 11 via their label and agency XGALX.

“IN THE RAIN” is a track from XG’s 2nd mini album AWE, which was released last November and marked their first-ever entry on the Billboard 200. The song is an R&B-inspired track that blends the sound of rainfall with delicate guitar melodies, creating a deeply immersive experience. It expresses the emotions of facing a breakup by comparing it to the sound of rainfall. The lingering, melancholic atmosphere leaves a lasting impression, and the sound of the continuous rain evokes a quiet, powerful resonance, as if confronting one’s emotions.
“IN THE RAIN” has been performed during XG’s ongoing world tour, “XG 1st WORLD TOUR ‘The first HOWL,’” earning high praise for its captivating choreography featuring umbrellas.
Additionally, “IN THE RAIN x XDM” will be included alongside the re-cut and an instrumental version for the first time. The song retains the essence of the original track while infusing it with a strong energy, offering a new perspective. Reborn with a powerful EDM sound, this version carries the spirit of the XDM Series, further expanding XG’s distinctive musical world.
Following the global campaign song “IS THIS LOVE” for Shiseido’s “ANESSA” TV commercials, which are currently airing in Japan, Vietnam, Taiwan, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, South Korea and the Philippines, fans are thrilled about the upcoming single re-cut from XG’s 2nd mini album.
A new visual, featuring all the members dressed in suits, will also be released this Friday, April 11 at 8 PM JST / 7 PM ET / 4 AM PT.
XG is set to make their Coachella debut this Sunday, April 13 as the only Japanese artist on the lineup. They’ll follow the performance with shows from their “XG 1st WORLD TOUR ‘The first HOWL’” in Seattle and Latin America (São Paulo and Mexico City) before concluding the tour with a final concert at the iconic Tokyo Dome on May 14.
It has also been previously announced that on the same day as the tour finale, they will release their 6th single, “MILLION PLACES.”
