The Lodge Room, located in Los Angeles, was recently home to nine member K-Pop group NTX as they made their exciting and long anticipated US debut among their fandom, NTFUL. After debuting in 2021 with mini album Full of Lovescapes NTX has gone on to release full length album Odd Hour (2023) and their latest mini album Hold X. Members Hyeongjin (형진), Yunhyeok (윤혁), Jaemin (재민), Changhun (창훈), Hojun (호준), Rawhyun (로현), Eunho (은호), and Seungwon (승원) spent the weekend interacting with fans, holding a successful and engaging fansign within KPOP Bestie, located in Los Angeles' Koreatown, and later commanding the stage with two back to back shows, 'New Ground', marking their US debut.
NTX hit the stage dancing in unison with their recent hit ‘Problematic’ off EP Hold X, my friends may say the only problematic thing about this song is I’ve been singing it all week. Jumping right into ‘FREE DAY’ and everyone’s favorite freaky fun, ‘Kick It The Door’ , NTX started their performance showcasing their power as dancers and strength as both vocalists and rappers.
As the members take a moment to introduce themselves and say hello to fans, it’s easy to notice the small details they have put into their styling, including several members sporting face embellishments. Rawhyun showing off the words 'simulatin' from my ego' scrawled cheek to cheek, and even the rhinestone ‘LA’ placed delicately under Hojun's left eye.
The members transitioned into solo and unit stages showcasing vocalists and rappers Seungwon and Changhun’s unreleased rap track ‘Why’, producer and rapper Rawhyun’s ‘Believe Me' which presents a blend of alternative and hip hop, and an explosive hip hop dance stage featuring Eunho and Jaemin, which proved to be a crowd favorite.
NTFUL fan favorite 'Holy Grail' was next on the setlist, as the members show off their powerful choreography fans sang loudly to the banger, raising the excitement through the venue. The group shocked the audience by performing a cover of One Direction's 'That’s What Makes You Beautiful', some fans showing their love by enthusiastically collapsing to the floor. The crowd began to bark, a celebratory custom most idols meet in the US, taking some of the members aback “Why are you guys barking like that?”, asks Yunhyeok.
NTX slowed things down with soulful ballad ‘그때로 (Just once)’, the members side by side while fans illuminate the venue. The group finished their set with vibrant track ‘Scream’, the energy high as members and the crowd jumped and danced together. Before heading into the second show of the night fans were able to participate in a quick high touch with the members, the group accepting high fives and thanking NTFUL for attending.
The audience, filled with both familiar faces from earlier in the evening as well as new ones joining in for the second show, now decorated with multi colored foam glow sticks, courtesy of KPOP Bestie, light up the venue and cheer in anticipation. NTX make their way on stage for their second performance of the night with songs 'Circuit', from survival show 'PEAK TIME', 'DROP THAT', and 'Vintage Girl,' the energy only continuing to elevate as the night went on.
Three new unit performances made their way to the stage with Jaemin's smooth and sensual track 'Alright’ joined later by fellow members as they enter in a dance break. Accompanied by Eunho and Jaemin was Yunhyeok as he performed his better than your ex track 'BABY', followed by EDM laced 'TRACE UP' by Rawhyun accompanied by Jaemin and Yunhyeok.
As the members slow things down transitioning into 'Ivy Booth', following with 'MYFUL', a track dedicated to fans, the group share in a touching and peaceful moment together with NTFUL.
The night begins to come to close and the members gather to thank their team and fans and share their final thoughts. Hojun leaves NTFUL with the hopeful and triumphant message "This is not our last song but the start of a new beginning". With their final transition into finale 'Scream' the crowd does just that. Proud to cheer on the members as they showcased their versatility and strength as a team NTFUL wave their light sticks and banners as they sing along to the lively closing track, completing NTX's US debut with a bang.
