Head in the Clouds, produced by 88rising, music and media company amplifying Asian talent and culture, will take place at Forest Hills Stadium in Queens, NY on May 11th and 12th. This two day festival features Asian artists throughout the Music Industry and just last year 88rising expanded bringing Head in the Clouds to New York in a partnership with The Bowery Presents, leading East Coast concert promoter.
Let's take a look at the artists in this year's lineup.
Saturday
Headlining Saturday's show will be (G)I-DLE, a five member girl group with Cube Entertainment. Known as one of the top K-Pop groups outside of the 'Big 3", known as entertainment companies YG, JYP and SM, the group has entertained fans with recent hits “Super Lady”, “Wife” and past favorites like “Queencard” and “Tomboy”. The idols who have been praised for their stage presence are sure to bring an exciting setlist with show stopping numbers to New York. Preceding (G)I-DLE will be DJ's ILLENIUM and Dabin who are both known as solo artists; the pair will be playing simultaneously, B2B, together for the first time. Also on the bill we have rookie group YOUNG POSSE, this five member girl group is with DSP Media and you may recognize them from their single “Macaroni Cheese”. Musical Collective Balming Tiger who just finished out their world tour in December 2023 is set to perform on day one of the festival.
Other notable artists to look forward to on Saturday are Dhruv, Juliet Ivy, thuy, Wang OK and wave to earth.
Sunday
Headlining Sunday's show is Head in the Clouds regular Joji who will close out the festival. Getting his start as an internet personality gaining popularity around 2012, he partnered with 88rising around 2017 transitioning both his sound and persona. BIBI, who recently released hit song “Sugar Rush” and is also no stranger to Head in the Clouds, will be making her NYC debut at this years festival.
ATARASHII GAKKO!, a four member Japanese group who label themselves as a “power group that is one part music, one part dance, all Tokyo Thrash” is not one to miss. They are known to bring high energy choreography amongst catchy lyrics all while defying Japan’s societal norms and “embracing individuality and freedom”. But that’s not all, artists to look out for throughout the day on Sunday are Awich, Deb Never, Eyedress, Lyn Lapid, Spence Lee and Warren Hue.
