Babylon Makes 'Beautiful Memories' with Fans During LA Performance

K-RnB artist Babylon recently completed his first US Tour ‘Beautiful Memories’ after nine stops across the country. After starting in Denver on October 3rd, the artist visited San Antonio, Kansas City, Falls Church, New York, Pittsburgh, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and completed the tour in Sunnyvale, CA on November 1st.

Originally scheduled with a more extensive list of dates encompassing 21 stops, tour dates were altered to a more condensed number of 9. Babylon’s Los Angeles performance took place at The Moroccan Lounge, an intimate and laid back venue located in the Arts District. With five, yes five, openers that lead up to Babylon’s performance, the opening seemed to go on longer than desired. With that being said, the opening acts on their own were enjoyable and started with slow and tranquil sounds of Taylor Contarino, repping her East Coast roots in a philly jersey turned dress, continuing was Rakiyah who took us to space with her fully integrated intergalactic set, while finishing up with the smooth pop sounds of damnboy!

Whether it was competing with the World Series, Halloween weekend or the LA date change, the crowd was surprisingly in short supply. However, what wasn't in short supply - Babylon’s talent. Delivering smooth vocals and an energized set, Babylon turned it out and put on a worthwhile and memorable performance.

Opening the night with banger 'Karma', Babylon turned on the heat and set the tone for the night, before transitioning into baby making trio, ‘One More Night, ‘Chandelier and ‘Masterpiece’. He went on to express his excitement for his first US tour stating “I’m very excited, nervous and looking forward to it”. We had the chance to chat with Babylon while on tour, where he shared similar sentiments and talked about his setlist where he would be highlighting his EGO 90’s series along with albums Hardy and MOOD. Admittedly, I was most excited to hear track 'Mood' feat. BOBBY from the album of the same name; Babylon delivered and I, too, had a fan moment.

To fans, it’s no surprise that Babylon has crisp, powerful and sultry vocals, and seeing him perform live was the perfect way to be immersed in his talent. Taking a moment to even deliver an acapella performance of Whitney Houston’s 'I Have Nothing', Babylon shined in his vocal strength. Switching the mood, Babylon went on to heighten the energy with hip hop track 'Automatic', a song that features artists Canchellor, twlv, Moon Sujin, BIBI and Jiselle.

Wrapping up the show, Babylon performed hit single ‘Boys and Girls’ with ZICO, released in 2015. The song put Babylon on the map as a notable rapper and still holds it's own almost 10 years later as a fan favorite. The crowd danced excitedly to the track while singing along loudly with the lyrics. After his performance Babylon graciously took the time to chat with fans and take several photos, adding to attendees excitement and imprinting memories of meeting the artist they love.

In our chat with Babylon he mentioned he was already thinking about his next chapter describing a ‘chill, laid-back sound- something a little “wet”’, we can't wait to see what's in store.
